We’ve launched the Coffs Coast Regional Science Hub!
The Coffs Coast Regional Science Hub (CCRSH) has now been launched, joining other Regional Science Hubs around the country doing great things in connecting communities with science for a sustainable future.
Through this Hub, we endeavour to bring together arts, festivals, libraries, cinemas, scientists, councils, venues and work together to bridge the gap between science and society.
This strategy is based on a “national framework-local action” approach. Science Hubs provide the grassroots, ground up means of achieving impact by facilitating the delivery of science outreach programs at a local level.
About the Meet-Up
Whilst the meet-ups are a great opportunity to promote existing events / initiatives happening, let’s keep the focus on areas for collaboration – working together and sharing resources, and to start planning new events.
Events involve three stages – Planning, Implementation and Evaluation. Please note that partnership/collaboration doesn’t need to look like all organisations being involved at every stage of the event. This helps us realise we can collaborate on events without taking on the whole undertaking of the event.
Feel free to bring flyers of existing events you are hosting to share with the group, but let’s not speak at length to these, and just distribute them. Instead, it is suggested to bring 3 pre-prepared ideas for partnership/collaboration to speak to, plus 3 resources we can share, and we start the meet-up with a circle sharing these ideas. Resources can look like a newsletter/mailing list, people resources, skills, venue, or physical equipment/resources.
Let’s also discuss membership structure for the Hub. I will also bring a contact list of people who attended the Partner Launch to share at the next meeting. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Amy on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0490 068 685
