CEL invites you to get involved in the The Bellingen High School Community Garden through Dig ‘n’ Dine!
Dig ‘n Dine runs on the first Tuesday night of the month (and Sunday lunchtimes during non-daylight savings) and is an opportunity to get involved in the garden and connect with others over a meal of vegetarian cuisine cooked with love and gratitude.
Meals are a pay as you feel affair. Give only what you can afford, what you feel the experience is worth – or give some extra to help the garden thrive! Be part of a unique experience that gives people the opportunity to eat out and be social regardless of their financial situation.
Thank you in advance for contributing to the family-friendly atmosphere of the garden by keeping Dig ‘n’ Dine an alcohol-free gathering. Other refreshments will be provided.
What to Expect
At Dig ‘n’ Dine, participants work alongside others to garden, harvest, or helping prepare food. Recipes are planned by Jane and Dave, the project coordinators, and depending on what veggies are in season. Dig ‘n’ Dine is about being together, getting outdoors, sharing knowledge, and having fun – all while helping the garden to flourish.
What to Bring
Please bring a hat, sunscreen, covered shoes, and a donation for the meal. All gardening tools are provided, but if you’ve got a favourite at home, bring it along!
Contributions of materials are always welcome (e.g. seedlings, seeds, mulch, shredded paper, compost, extra produce to bump up the meal, etc).
How to Get There
The Bellingen High School Community Garden is located within the school on flat land with good accessibility. The garden is open to the whole community with access to the gardening public after school hours and on weekends.
You’ll find the garden by going to the Crown Street entrance of Bellingen High School.
