The Centre for Ecological Learning (CEL) supports people of all ages to experience Earth-based, immersive, educational experiences that deepen our relationship with ourselves and the natural world.

These experiences nourish, inspire and equip people with the knowledge and skills to go forth and adopt more ecologically sustainable ways of living in their personal lives and local community.

Positions Available

CEL is largely run by volunteers. We are currently looking to fill a number of volunteer positions:

SEO Coordinator

We are looking for someone to assist us with our search engine optimisation.

Knowledge of SEO Yoast is required.

Estimated time: 1-3 hours per week
Location: Remote or at the Bellingen Sustainability Centre

Food4LYF Coordinator

We are looking for someone to coordinate the publicity and be the contact for our Food4LYF project. This person would manage F4L events on the CEL website and on Facebook,write press releases, and respond to emails and phone-calls for the program. Attending F4L events is optional.

CEL will provide training materials to assist you with the above tasks.

Estimated time: 1-3 hours per week 
Location: Remote or at the Bellingen Sustainability Centre

CEL Social Media Coordinator

The Social Media Coordinator will oversee CEL’s Facebook presence. Tasks include writing content, scheduling posts, promoting events, and growing our audience.

Young Naturalist Club Coordinator

We are looking for someone to coordinate publicity and be the contact for our Young Naturalists Club project. This person would manage YNC events on the CEL website and on Facebook, write press releases, and respond to emails and phonecalls for the program. Program design is not part of the position (Andrew Turbill writes the YNC program). Attending YNC walks are optional. A good knowledge of the local area is required.

CEL will provide training materials to assist you with the above tasks.

Content Writers

We need two writers to write high quality content for posting onto our website blog, through our newsletter and facebook channels. Content needs to align with our Vision, Mission and Impact statements and will be proofed before publishing.

Food4LYF Facilitators

We are looking for two Facilitators for the Food4LYF project, which runs at the Bellingen High School Community Garden on Wednesdays 1.30-3.10 during school terms. Facilitators are joined by a High School Teacher to lead students in meditation, gardening, and cooking activities that see them connect with the natural world. Facilitators welcome and oversee volunteers, design the garden, design the cooking schedule (with help from students), set up for the event, and pack down (with help from students). They also share info/photos to Facebook (or with the Coordinator if they are not on Facebook).

CEL will provide training materials to assist you with the above tasks. Experience with gardening, cooking, leading meditation, and working with young people is desired.

Working with Children Check is required.

Estimated time: 2.5 hours per week during school terms (Wednesdays 1.15-3.45pm)
